Cote d'Ivoire (or the Ivory Coast) is a small
country in French-speaking West Africa. It boasts a tropical climate and
has miles of beautiful, untouched beaches. The political capital is Yamoussoukro,
although the city of Abidjan is the main economic center. The coast has
turned into a playground, lined with resorts for Cote d'Ivoire's French
community.
It's 13.8 million person population includes 60 different ethnic groups, including
the Baoule, Agni, Bete, Yacouba, Senoufo, and the Mande. Nearly 40% of the country
practices Islam, while just under 30% practice Christianity. The remainder practice
traditional religions.
