Nguni Imports is an African-American owned and operated import company specializing in handcrafted products from southern and western Africa. Our product line includes representation from: South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Mali, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal.
Our home base is in Irmo, South Carolina.

Working with independent artists and self help projects, we seek out the most unique traditional and contemporary products to bring to the U.S. market. We hope to maintain the cultural traditions of the ethnic groups we represent as well as look for opportunities to incorporate said influences into modern styles. In doing so, we support sustainable economic opportunities. |
Nguni Imports also provides educational material and presentations to schools and private groups aimed at destroying the myths and stereotypes surrounding Africa and African cultures. We attempt to reveal the cultural and historical richness of the African continent in a non-political, non-biased manner.
Our intent is not to take sides, but rather to expose the truth--both good and bad--of African history.
